- - welcome!

Traverse the bridge that binds two worlds: the Real World and the Dream World. While everyone seems normal within reality, in Dreams, they are what they truly are. Some imagine objects never before seen, others open and point the way through the doors that riddle the Dream World, and a handful seem to have strange powers only in this dimension. So come Imagine with us, as we take the first few steps into what could be a world of dreams.

- - events!

Current Event: Festival of the Hunt Part II: "Oh SNAP, son!"

The Base of Operations devoted to researching the differences between the Real World and Dream World sponsored an event that involved Dreamwalkers competing with each other to take down as many Nightmares as they could in the Real World. It started all right at first, but strange occurrences happened as the days went on: competitors going missing for days and reappearing; higher level Nightmares being freed before they were supposed to; powers actually working. Now the unthinkable's happened; a Nightmare's broken into the Real World, and its existence upsets the already delicate balance between Alamira and the Dreamscape.

- - your staff!

Shota
Hello! I am Shota - the creator of the forum! I made this site with the help of some good friends! Something more interesting will go here in the future.

Morgan
I'm Morgan-- one of the staff, obviously. You'll mostly find me in the Cbox, chatting it up with the members or answering their questions. Other times I'll be replying to threads (and my character won't be hard to miss ;P). Uh, maybe I should leave the rest of this space for someone else to talk... >////>

Rikka
Hey, you! SMILE AND SAY CHEESE~! -lifts camera and snaps a picture- Mwahahaha! >3

- - something's up!

"What, the commotion outside? Turns out a nightmare just burst out of thin air and people are trying to stop it from wrecking the town. No big deal, pretty sure we can fix that. It'll take a while, though."

- - updates!

10/9 - Site revamp is GO! >w< I've removed the table from the main page and put the pertinent information on the side tables here on the left. More things will be added and changed around soon, so stay tuned!

5/21 - Another new skin, yay! There's also a new Event up for Imaginers, so go check out the Announcements!

4/16 - A new table's been added to the site's Main Page with the essential links and other information, with an extra something. The rightmost box will contain blurbs and observations from NPCs and bystanders about the goings-on in Alamira. Be sure to pay attention to those, because you never know what they might say.

4/13 - Hey, will ya look at this! A new skin for the site, heheheh. It took a bit of work, but it looks nice, don't you think? If not, then don't worry. The other skins don't look anything like this, so you can switch to those just fine. ;P As for the other stuff stated in earlier announcements... we're still working on it. >_> Sit tight!

- - credits!

GENERAL;;
[1] How did Imaginers get started?
    What? Really? Well... Uhm... One day, Shota was running an idea by Rikka. He was all, "blah blah Imaginer blah blah Dream World blah blah Monsters," and when he was finished, and Rikka had dully nodded through everything, he went, "so how's that for a book?! 8D"

    To which Rikka went, "lolwhut? I thought it was for an RP board."
    And thus, an RP it became.

[2] That's a lame story. Who else helped make the site?
    Well, geez, harsh critic. >.> Well, besides Shota, there's also Rikka, who helped out a lot with ideas and coding; Nyla, who wrote up a bunch of the stuff you see around here; and Morgan, who's standing watch in the doorway to make sure you don't kill me for that awful bit of storytelling. :3

    Check the credits for specifics.

[3] Is it my turn to hug Shota to death because he's so cute~?
    Erm... No.

THE WORLD;;
[1] Where are we and what year are we in?
    We are in the Real World or the Dream World, which exists as two separate dimensions on a planet (that is not Earth, although it's similar to it with the technology level and the fact that everyone looks human, etc.). Don't bother asking for more information; it's not relevant to the purpose of this site. :3 and staff dunno themselves hurrrr As for a time...we'll get to that later. >.> There's just months and days and seasons right now; we'll announce what year it is when we get together some sort of time line. ^^b

[2] Is it public knowledge the Dream World exists?
    Yep! It is a way of life, after all. Think of how like a large mining town might've worked. Most people are miners, but the town needs other people to do other jobs to support those miners. It's a bit like that, except the mine never runs out of dream dust, so the town never collapses.

[3] Who can access the Dream World? From where and at what times?
    Anyone can access the Dream World. The Entrance and Exit listed in the Base of Operations is the largest entrance in Alamira, and thus is regulated by said Base. There is also an Entrance and Exit in the Contract Cafe, which is regulated by the Cafe. There would be a short set of classes (offered at the School) that each class would have to take before going into the Dream World, but of course, not everyone takes these classes. There is the possibility of smaller entrances and exits littering the Real World, often found by curious teenagers or wandering children. Objects are often lost through these smaller, non-regulated entrances. Entrances can close and so can Exits.

[4] Why are people going into the Dream World?
    Most go into the Dream World because it is their occupation to gather dream dust and bring it back, like energy. Some of these people are looking for fame and riches, others may be looking for adventure. Everyone has different reasons, even among classes! Imaginers, for example, might like the Dream World because they can everything they can 'dream' of - unlike the Real World.

[5] Can you get hurt within the Dream World?
    Yes. It is your physical body that goes into the Dream World, and you must take care of it. You can break bones, you can bleed, and you can die. Navigators have a bit of resistance - but they too, can still be harmed.

[6] What can we expect to find in the Dream World?
    Imaginary things, objects, and creations. Creations apart of the Dream World are lost objects or Real World people that have become apart of the Dream World: they are usually ferocious and dangerous to encounter. These are NOT nightmares! Nightmares are created differently.

[7] What changes can we expect within the Dream World?
    Anything and everything! ;D Sometimes, Staff will even switch up the boards within the Dream World! So pay close attention.~ Your thread might even be relocated! Check out this thread for some more information.

THE CLASSES;;
[1] Can an Imaginer "imagine" a passageway/door into existence?
    Not really. Only the Dream World can create Doors that actually lead somewhere. The Imaginer can create a door, of course - but the only thing it'll open to is the other side. More research is required to understand how Doors work.

[2] What happens to Keys once they've been used to open up a door?
    The Door consumes/destroys the Key. The Key's magic is required to open the door and lead to that other place. This is why different Keys can open different Doors to different places, for some Keys are magically different than others.

[3] Can any class have a weapon?
    Yes, they can! But be careful. The Base is only going to allow super-cool, powerful weapons to Fighters, and the Base will take all weapons away from you if you're coming back into the Real World - one doesn't need them there after all. If you're a Navigator, I suggest looking into a Guardian rather than a weapon. They're a LOT cooler. ;D If you're an Imaginer, well darnit! You already imagine stuff! Why do you need to carry around a gun or a sword if you can just, I dunno, imagine a bag over someone's head?

[4] Could a Navigator or Imaginer become a Fighter by having a weapon?
    No. Although they would be allowed to use the weapon for a fight, they will NOT actually be a Fighter. Fighters have powers and are usually stronger and more skilled.

[5] Do Fighters start off with their powers perfect?
    Pffffft. NO! A Fighter needs to learn how to control their powers, just like all the other classes. They will not be perfect or flawless with them from the very beginning. They can, however, take classes at the school to help them further their understanding of their ability.

[6] What's the difference between a Nightmare and a Guardian? They're both creatures, right?
    Yes and no. Guardians aren't alive, have a fixed appearance and are made by an Imaginer that knows what they're doing. Nightmares, however, are unstable, can change from "monstrous" to "human", and are created by the thoughts or emotions of anything sentient.

[7] Is there any kind of shorthand I can use to figure out the differences between Classes?
    Not shorthand in terms of abbreviations, but here goes:
    Imaginers can create, but not control.
    Fighters can control, but not create.
    Navigators are resistant to the Dream World,
    and Nightmares are more in tune with it.

THE CONTRACTS;;
[1] How do you go about starting a Contract?
    First of all, I highly suggest reading this thread. It'll explain how it's done IC-ly. If you're wondering OoC-ly, I suggest heading over to the plotting boards! Wooo~!

[2] Can you make a Contract in the Dream World/Real World?
    You can write up a Contract in both worlds, yes. ^^ Most prefer to do it in the Real World, however, so they do not have the Dream World affecting their decisions.

THE TREASURES;;
[1] Do characters need everything in the shops in order to venture into the Dream World?
    Of course not! That would be ridiculous! Most individuals only purchase those items to make it easier to transverse into the Dream World and to explore it. Some items help keep them safe, others are meant to be of assistance. It helps them travel further and further to find more Dust. :3 Keep in mind what you'll really need (like food and water!) before picking up these extra tools.

[2] How would I go about getting Dream Dust?
    You get Dream Dust by completing threads in the Dream World! You can go here to file a request to collect it.

[3] Do I get rewarded for completing Contracts?
    Only if this is put INTO the contract. Please note that you will have to be rewarded by another member - as in, they will have to ask Staff to transfer ney/dust from their account and into yours. You can go to this thread for more information.

[4] Can I supplement ney for dust and dust for ney?
    Of course! If something costs 150 ney, and you want to pay in dust, just divide by 50. In this case, 150 ney = 3 grams of dust. Then head over to this thread to complete the transaction. If something can ONLY be bought in Dust, though, you need to make sure you have the appropriate amount.
