- Since the event has been placed up as of June 09th, if you want to join, either make an [E] or [Event] tagged thread in the Alamira board, or reply in a thread that is tagged such.
- The competition will last ONE WEEK ICly starting from the first Event-post made. Each IC Day is 10 OOC Days, making it around seventy days total in Real Time. Two months and a week or so. Whether or not the time will be extended depends on a lot of things.
- All Event Threads have to be marked with "[EVENT]" or "[E]" before the subject title.
- All those that join in the event over ten days after it's started must be aware that they have a diminished chance of actually winning the competition by principle.
- Characters have the chance to participate IN TEAMS if they choose. All Newbies or Members that create or re-activate their characters AFTER the competition officially begins will most likely end up solo.
- Most likely =! Definitely. It's still possible to be in a team but the members in question will need to plot amongst themselves, and if necessary, post their characters' relationships building up in a non-event thread to get a few posts under their belt so that the 'team' thing flows more smoothly.
- The EXP is counted in two ways: Individual EXP, and Team EXP. Individual EXP goes to those that land the killing blow on a Nightmare. They keep the points for themselves. Individual EXP from contestants in the same team combine to form the Team EXP. Once the contest is done, the team with the most points wins and the person who made the most kills wins as well, but the two are not mutually inclusive. If a team of three racked up 750 EXP with 250 points individually, but another contestant got over 250 points just going solo, the team wins the team prize but the other individual gets their own prize.
- A Nightmare can show up in your thread at any given time (on the Nightmare account). The faster you kill it, the faster another one can show up (unless the thread is finished and the contestants are moving to another place on the board).
- You get EXP from beating Nightmares, not Contestants. You get loot from other Contestants, not Nightmares. Keep that in mind.
- There is no word count, and we are not asking for a novel or for extra deep contemplation and inner thought regarding the character. Meaning, keep the posts short because this is a rapid fire event. It has to be. Please don't drop gargantuan 1000+ word posts if you can help it, or unless your typing speed is off the charts.
- If you find that you can't post in time for whatever reason, you can skip your turn and post when your turn next comes up. If you're in a team, you'll have to provide something for everyone else to go off of and put your character on Auto-Pilot.
- Keep in mind that every turn skipped is a potential loss in the turn that might net you EXP from beating the Nightmares. You'll get the aggregate team EXP along with the rest of the group from the combined actions, but individual EXP from the kills is off-limits since you didn't take an action then. Auto-Pilot doesn't count.
- The event is going to be in Static Time, not Liquid Time. The characters cannot be in more than one thread at once unless those threads have nothing to do with the event itself. So, all regular threads go on as normal in Liquid Time but I'm really not going to believe that your character is kicking a Nightmare's ass in one place and a Contestant's in another's, all at once.
- The HP Gauge will be in your signature space (put in [HP~=250~/250~] but remove the tildes), and will be updated by staff every time the thread you're in is completed. This is the primary reason why the Event is in Static Time. As long as the contestant is in one thread at a time (unless non-event), we can keep track of how much HP to deduct at any given point.
- To attack, put in [~rand] (remove the tilde), and it'll generate a number between 1 and 75. Like so:[#@rand#=22.071091273333877%@]
It's preferable that you place it at the end of your post, not before. The tag won't work in the Quick Reply, and both this and the HP Bar code only work on the 'Third Eye' and 'Water Carrier' skins.
